Happy New Year everyone! Yes, I am a bit delayed in my wishes, but it is still January, so I am going to wish away! (I’ll admit I started writing this entry on Jan. 1st, got sidetracked and I am just publishing it now).
If you asked me three Januarys ago what my New Year’s resolution was I would say “Nothing! New Year’s resolutions are lame and no one sticks to them anyways,” I was a resolution cynic. Today, however, I am a sucker for goal setting and resolutions. My friends all know about the ridiculous number of lists I have to guide my days. Lists of:
- books to read
- movies to watch
- things to do this summer or winter
- recipes to try
- restaurants to eat at
- countries and cities I want to go to
- things to do today
- things to do this week
- things to do in Toronto
- my life bucket list
- This list of my lists!
You get the point.
This year, my resolution is, you guessed it, a list! More specifically, a list of things that I hope to do each month while I am
living in Korea (Did I mention that I am moving to Korea? No?).
Announcement: I am moving to Korea in February! I recently landed my first teaching position at a Canadian school in Daegu, where I will be teaching Kindergarten. I am ridiculously excited to experience what it is like to live in another country, eat loads of kimchi and bibimbap and of course travel, all while working in my dream profession.
You may notice that one of these items is to write a blog post – this is me checking it off that box for January! If I do manage to get through my list each month, I should have a lot to write about this year!
Finally, I will leave you with an excerpt of my first journal entry of the year.
Who knows what my future holds. All I’m sure of is that my head is full of excitement, my heart is full of hope and adventure awaits. All I have to do now is take a leap and the rest is yet to be discovered!”
Happy New Year my friends! May 2016 be filled with love hugs and peanut butter.
