If you are looking for a delicious but healthy place to eat out, than Rawlicious in Yorkville is the place to go! Just listen to this: Zucchini & kelp noodles, shredded romaine lettuce, carrots & bell peppers mixed in a tangy Thai sauce topped with green onions & crumbled cashews. Are your tastebuds watering yet? Raw vegan food has never sounded or tasted so good, and that’s just the Phad Thai!
Everything on their menu is gluten, dairy, meat & refined sugar free and nothing is heated above 188F. This way the food in its natural state and retains all of its vitamins and nutrients. But dont let their restrictions turn you off, because it forces them to be deliciously creative! Instead of pasta they use zucchini noodles and instead of pizza dough, they use a dehydrated nut based crust – yum!
If you are a BBQ loving carnivore, you might be rolling your eves, but I challenge you to give it a try! I myself love steak, ribs, and chicken wings, but I also regularly crave Rawlicious. Your body will thank you after and you may be pleasantly surprised to find a new favourite place to eat. If anything, it is a great compromise when you are grabbing a bite with a vegetarian, vegan or gluten free friend. The food is extremely flavourful and surprisingly filling even if the portion sizes look smaller. Even on a cold day you can warm yourself up with a warm soup of the day or a glass of red wine.
The menu is always changing. Sometimes it can be disappointing if you have fallen in love with a particular dish. I personally became infatuated with their Pizza (Served on a sprouted buckwheat & flax seed crust with cashew nut cheese & tomato marinara sauce,) but when I went back a few months later it was gone! Mostly the menu changes are exciting, because you can try new things each time you go.
I always go to the Rawlicious in Yorkville, but there are also locations in Bloor West, Markham and Barrie. Try one out and let me know what you think! Check out there menu HERE for prices and options.
